A Little About Myself
How did Sirius Dog Star Grooming and Healing get started?
It all began after my dog's groomer moved away in 2016. I didn't know whom I could trust him with.
In 2017, I went and trained to become a dog groomer at a big box store grooming salon. Dogs would come in and sit for hours in a kennel, waiting to be groomed. They were anxious and scared, couldn’t be taken out to the bathroom, had to lay on an uncomfortable metal bottom in the kennel…not fun.
In 2019, I left the corporate world to start my in-home dog grooming business. I started out under the name d’Este Pet Grooming for Dogs. No longer would they have to sit for hours or be scared of the typical grooming community. One-on-one individual appointments in their own home.
In 2021, I underwent a rebranding. I wanted a name that reflected what I do. I don’t just groom dogs, I also bring peace and calming to them as well. I am a certified Reiki Master Teacher. I incorporate this ancient Japanese technique of relaxation into my grooming. That’s when I came up with Sirius Dog Star Grooming and Healing.
I have been successfully running my business since July of 2019. I started out in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and now have brought my services to Knoxville, Tennessee.
Aside from grooming dogs, I love all things Elvis (minus the recent movie), spending time with my dog, hiking around IJAMS in South Knoxville, coffee, reading books, gardening, and spending as much time outside as I can.
